How to add a product as a gift card

Learn how to create a gift card campaigns and issue gift cards

Gift Card Types

Experiences:
Experience gift cards are also prepaid cards that come with a unique reference number and are attached to an SKU (e.g. Afternoon tea for two). Redemption is restricted to one-time use. Both digital and physical gift cards are available.

Monetary:
Monetary gift cards are prepaid stored-value money cards. Value can be added in the designated local currency at pre-set amounts or customisable specific amounts. This can be redeemed multiple times.

Monetary gift cards come with a unique reference number, PIN password, currency settings and a value amount.


Campaigns

Your gift cards can be set up at property level i.e: Hotel A.

Once your campaign has been set up, a “Campaign Code” will be generated. This will need to be inserted into the “Campaign Code” field when you are creating the gift card product. A campaign code refers to an identifier that is associated with your property.

For example: Bangkok (CMPGN_BKK) or Singapore (CMPGN_SGP).

Gift Card Creation

Now that your campaign is set up, you can create your gift card product,
to do this simply visit Products > Create New

The process of setting up a gift card is very similar to creating other product types, with a few exceptions that require population as follows:

Product Type: Tick ‘Gift Card’

Service Provider: Choose your service provider, for example, Givex or Techsembly Gift Card. If you are using the Techsembly Gift Card, you should complete the fields below:

TS Gift Card Type: Select either ‘Experience’ or ‘Monetary’

Campaign Code: Paste the campaign code for your gift card into this field

Delivery Mode: Select your delivery method i.e. digital delivery.

Note: Each campaign has a default expiry date, but can be extended upon request after being published. To make changes, please contact your account manager.


Gift Card Redemption


You will have access to a Redemption Dashboard. Your account manager will create your initial login password. This dashboard grants two access types:

Admin - The administrator has full access to the system.
Front-desk - The front-desk user only has access to activate vouchers and check balances.

The dashboard allows your team to complete the following actions - Redeem, Check Balances and update the basic Settings (login email + password).

Teams can access the customer profile associated with the purchased gift card from the redemption dashboard. At the point of redemption or balance request, the customer is required to share details of their Gift Card or Voucher with the hotel, including:

Card Number
Pin
SKU


Returns & Refunds

Items purchased with monetary gift cards can be refunded via the main CMS with an account that has suitable privileges, depending on the terms and conditions of the specific item purchased.

Experience Gift Cards or Vouchers can’t be refunded.


Order Fulfilment

Digital Card Order Fulfilment
Digital fulfilment is automatic. The Vendor and any named email address will get a copy of the order. Permitted users will be able to download reports showing orders taken and gift cards generated.


1. The hotel will be sent a confirmation email.

2. The purchaser will receive confirmation the digital gift card has been sent:

3. The recipient will receive their digital gift card with PIN and validity dates

4. The recipient will receive the digital card via email. The recipient will not see any reference of the price in the digital gift card, only the SKU name (e.g. Body and Mind) for experiences. For monetary gift cards, the amount will be visible.
