Blocked | Status update of a Gift Card to say that particular Card is 'blocked' and therefore no longer may be used. The gift Card will need to be unblocked before any actions can be used with the Gift Card |
Campaign | A series of operations intended to achieve a particular objective, confined to a particular time frame, store, or associated with a particular product for a physical or digital Gift Card. |
Cancelled | Status update of a Gift Card to say that particular Gift Card has been 'canceled' and will need to be made active again to be used or a new Gift card will need to be issued |
Check Balance | Process in which to validate the value applied to an ‘Activated’ monetary or experiences Gift Card |
Credit | Adding nominal monetary value to a Gift Card in a particular currency |
Custom Value | A monetary value that is uniquely applied by the customer |
Department | An area within the hotel that will be responsible for the activation and/or redemption of Gift Card as a log for auditing |
Exchange Rate | Currency exchange rate set via ratio tables against a base currency during the checkout phase |
Experiences | A type of Gift Card that has uniquely applied services or experiences with an included nominal value to be redeemed as a one-time whole value at a time of the client's choosing |
Expiry | Expiration date and time whereby no longer valid |
Gift Card | Physical or digital offering that holds a monetary or experience value at purchase and can be redeemed after a card is activated and at a time of the client's choosing. |
Invoice | A receipt of purchase itemizing, date, time, and object of purchase |
Lost | Status update of a Gift Card to say that particular Gift Card is 'Lost', and will need to have been already registered before a replacement card is issued. |
Monetary | A type of Gift Card that holds a value associated with a global currency. May be redeemed partially and have the ability to add credit value |
Notes | A text field in which to add custom notes |
Operator | A person associated in a department a that will have the necessary authorization credentials |
PIN | 4-digit access PIN number used in conjunction with the Gift Card number created at activation for the purpose of checking the value of the Gift Card and /or redemption of the Gift Card. |
QR Code | a machine-readable code consisting of an array of black and white squares, typically used for storing URLs or other information for reading by the camera on a smartphone. |
Redeem | Process in which the Gift Card is exchanged for services or experiences at the destination associated and within the constraints of the terms and conditions of the Gift Card |
Refund | Transaction type in which a Gift Card will have the sum of money attributed to the amount repaid back to the customer |
Scan | Process in order to ‘read’ a Gift Card's unique characteristics |
Service Fee | An ancillary cost associated with a particular service, in particular, the 5% charge for current conversion |
Settings | Configuration process in order to set parameters associated with the application |
SKU | Stock Keeping Unit'- a unique identifier naming code for product inventory management and organizing. |
Status | The situation at a particular time during the process of the Gift Card becoming active, valid, deactivated, or redeemed. |
