Set up a 'Tax Category' to apply one or more tax rules to transactions based on various criteria.
To set up your Tax Category, navigate from the main home page of the CMS on the left-hand menu to the bottom where you will find: 'Settings' > 'Tax Category'
Here you will see a list of all the Tax Categories that you can create depending on which region you are selling.
If you want to create your tax category, simply click the 'Create Tax Category' in the right hand corner of the page.
Name: The name of the tax category (see example above named as 'GST')
Tax Code: The name of the lawful tax code that is implemented in the country, for auditing and accountancy. (e.g. GST)
Description: The explanation and reasoning of the tax (e.g. Australian GST for goods and services).
You also have the option to make it the default tax of the store by clicking the checkbox 'Set as Default'.
When completed, your tax category will appear on the Tax Category page.
If you would like to remove a Tax Category, you can go to the actions and select 'Delete'.
